A one day workshop providing training in the practical skills required to systematically gather the evidence required for a thorough incident investigation. This training is suitable for all persons responsible for investigating Work Health and Safety incidents at both surface and underground mine sites. The course has been developed around a realistic incident scenario that is easily understood by persons from the various mining disciplines. The course involves a significant amount of practical exercises and attendees are provided with practical tools and templates to assist them in the future. The practical evidence gathering skills taught in this course are compatible with any internal mine site investigation processes.
The course is delivered by Paul Hamson who has extensive experience as a high level investigator of major and fatal, surface, and underground, mining incidents.
Course Content Includes:
· Initial response and management of incidents.
· Gathering Evidence: physical, witness statements & interviews, documentary, reconstructions etc.
Learning Objectives Include:
· Effectively respond to incidents to ensure the safety of persons and the operation.
· Preserve the site of the incident and any relevant evidence.
· Comply with the WHS (Mines & Petroleum Sites) Act & Regulation requirements – Notifiable Incidents.
· Gather Evidence – physical, witness statements/interviews, documentary etc.
