Originally established in 2011 by Director and Consultant Paul Hamson, SafetyRecap Pty Ltd specialises in providing Work Health and Safety Training and Major/Fatal Investigation services to the mining industry. Major clients have included Glencore, Rio Tinto, Centennial Coal, BHP Billiton, Vale, Yancoal, New Hope Group, South32, Idemitsu, Thiess, Great Southern Energy, Whitehaven Coal , Peabody Energy etc.
Paul Hamson, has extensive experience and qualifications in the areas of Work Health and Safety, and is a qualified Lawyer and Coal Mine Manager. Paul’s experience and qualifications include:
Experience:

· Investigated numerous Fatal & Serious Mining Incidents e.g. Blakefield Mine Explosion; Fatal
Incidents at Dartbrook, Mount Thorley Warkworth, Bengalla, Wambo, Tahmoor, Cumnock etc;
Serious Incidents at Mandalong, Wambo, Muswellbrook, Ulan, Chain Valley & Springvale etc.
· Managed the response to numerous fatalities, major mine fires and other serious incidents e.g. Fatal
Incidents at Austar, Ravensworth, Integra & Myuna; Southland Mine Fire & Newstan Heatings etc.
· Providing training for management, supervisors and workers in WHS related areas including “Incident
Investigation”, “Legal Duties”, and Surface & Underground Coal “Mining Disasters” etc.
· Provided support and investigation/defence services to clients in relation to prosecution matters
· Investigated numerous work-place bullying and harassment matters
· Experienced in coronial and prosecution court proceedings
· Operational/Management roles in coal mines across NSW and QLD (15 years)
